Frequently Asked Questions
Below you can find answers to frequently asked questions about working with our office and legal processes.
How does the initial meeting work?
You can request an appointment by phone, email or through the contact form. In the meeting we listen to your matter, review any documents and inform you about the available legal options.
Which documents should I bring to the meeting?
It is helpful to bring your ID together with all documents related to the matter, such as contracts, official notifications, correspondence and court or enforcement file documents. Complete documents allow a more accurate assessment.
How are attorney fees determined?
Fees are determined by taking into account the nature and scope of the work and the effort it requires, and are agreed in a written engagement agreement. The agreed fee cannot be lower than the Minimum Attorney Fee Tariff published by the Union of Turkish Bar Associations.
How do I issue a power of attorney?
A power of attorney is issued in favour of the attorney by applying to any notary public with your ID. We will provide you with the attorney’s details. Those abroad can also have it issued at Turkish consulates.
Will the information I share remain confidential?
Yes. Attorneys are obliged not to disclose information entrusted to them or learned in the course of their professional activities (Attorneys’ Act, Art. 36).
How long does a case take?
It is not possible to give an exact duration. It depends on the type of case, the court’s workload, procedures such as expert examinations, and whether appeals are filed.
Can you guarantee that I will win my case?
No. The outcome of proceedings depends on the evidence, legal assessment and the court’s discretion; no attorney can guarantee a result. Our office keeps you clearly and realistically informed at every stage.
I have received an official notification. What should I do?
Legal time limits usually start from the date of notification, and some are only a few days long. Note the date you received it and consult an attorney without delay.
